Raúl Anguiano (born November 5, 1915, in Guadalajara, Mexico – died January 13, 2006, in Mexico City, Mexico) was one of the most important Mexican painters and muralists of the 20th century. Known for his vivid, colorful works and strong commitment to his cultural heritage, Anguiano's art offers a powerful reflection of Mexican history, folklore, and identity. A central figure in the post-revolutionary art movement in Mexico, he contributed to the visual language of the modern Mexican art scene, combining elements of realism, symbolism, and indigenous iconography in a distinctive way.

Though Anguiano was trained in the classical academic tradition, he soon embraced modernism, integrating elements of Mexican folk art and indigenous traditions into his work. He became an important part of the Mexican modernist movement, which sought to create an art that reflected the nation’s cultural identity and post-revolutionary ideals. The Mexican muralist movement, in particular, left a profound impact on Anguiano, especially in terms of the importance of social themes and the use of art to engage with political and cultural issues.
