Oskar Kokoschka

Oskar Kokoschka was an Austrian artist known for his expressionist paintings and drawings. Born on March 1, 1886, in Pöchlarn, Austria, Kokoschka studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vienna before becoming a founding member of the Vienna Secession movement.

His emotionally charged works are characterized by vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes, often depicting figures and landscapes with a sense of raw intensity. Kokoschka's artistic career was prolific, spanning several decades until his death on February 22, 1980, in Montreux, Switzerland.
